2. Post a picture of the object
3. Post a diagram of the object that you drew by hand or using a drawing program
Diagram should include
4. Post a short description of the object, an explanation of the simple machines involved and the calculations used for finding the Mechanical Advantage of the object
Simple Machines is a tool that helps us can work easier. And there are 6 types of simple machines. Stapler is a common household simple machine that we can find easily. It has both lever and wedge. Stapler is a Third class lever, because it has fulcrum at the end, effort in the middle, and output force at another end. We can calculate the mechanical advantage of lever easily by using formula, D in/D out. Therefore MA of lever is,12cm/16cm= 0.75. Stapler is a wedge too, because we push the fibers to the other side of the paper. That little metal cut the paper apart. MA of Wedge is slope length/width. So MA of wedge is 0.7cm/0.05cm=14. The Mechanical Advantage of stapler is 14.75. Simple machines help us to expand our force. When we use lever and wedge, we can make force easily then we actually put work without those.
